General Questions
History buffs and nature lovers will enjoy touring the historic buildings and grounds, which include an arboretum with over 100 species of trees and a cotton gin dating back to 1910. The area’s natural beauty also makes it a popular destination for professional photography. Guests can choose from five unique log cabins, perfect for vacations or business retreats, and the event venue, with its variety of staging options, is a popular location for weddings and private parties.
Our self-guided tour includes access to six buildings, including the blacksmith shop, print shop (with a working linotype machine), one-room schoolhouse, and chapel. You’ll also have access to the Cotton Museum of the South, which features our original cotton gin and general store. There is a $10 entry fee per person. Please stop by or give us a call at (731) 202-2772 to schedule your visit.
Our onsite Harvest Farmstand Cafe is coming soon! In the meantime, visitors should plan to eat at one of the local spots in nearby Bells or Alamo for a meal —both are just a quick 5 to 10-minute drive from the farm. Check out our blog post on local eateries here.
Absolutely. The farm serves as a beautiful backdrop for professional photography, including maternity, family, graduation and engagement sessions. We charge a flat photography fee of $50. To ensure your session doesn’t conflict with a private wedding or event, please call us in advance to put your appointment on the calendar.
While we invite day visitors to enjoy the scenery and the history, the fishing ponds are reserved specifically for our overnight cabin guests. There’s nothing quite like a quiet moment on the bank right outside your private cabin, and we want to keep that experience peaceful and exclusive for the folks calling the farm home for the night.
Weddings & Events
Because every celebration is different, our rates vary depending on the event, the day of the week, and the time of year. Please contact us directly so we can chat about your plans and make sure we offer you the best pricing available for your specific event.
Our pricing gives you the option to use all of our venue settings—the May Chapel, the Event Barn, and the scenic grounds. You don’t have to pick just one; you can use the spaces however they best fit your vision. This way, you can pick the backdrops that fit your “I do” best without worrying about separate rental fees for each space.
We would love to show you around! You can click the “Schedule a Tour” button on our site or give us a call to find a time to walk the grounds and see the spaces for yourself.
Cabin Lodgings
Our cabins are tucked away in nature for a quiet, rustic escape. While we’ve added modern comforts like AC and heat, the experience is all about the simple life. Depending on which cabin you choose, you’ll find amenities like clawfoot tubs (the Corn Crib Cabin offers a walk-in shower instead), cozy indoor fireplaces for winter, and plenty of porch space with seating to enjoy.
You can check in any time after 2:00 PM and check out by 11:00 AM.
Our base rates include 2 guests. Each additional guest adds $10 per day to your stay, though there is no charge for children under two years old. Please note that a one-time flat cleaning fee of $45 is added to every stay.
Yes! Cabin guests are welcome to enjoy catch-and-release fishing in any of our four ponds. Just remember to bring your own poles, bait, and camp chairs, as we don’t provide fishing gear.
To ensure that guests with allergies can also enjoy their stay, we do not allow pets
We supply all the firewood you need in the winter for your indoor fireplace. In the summer, we do not allow indoor fires, but you are welcome to use the outdoor fire pits for a sunset bonfire.
Reservations cancelled at least two weeks in advance receive a full refund. We offer a 50% refund with at least one week’s notice, but we cannot offer a refund for cancellations made with less than a week’s notice
We provide coffee and homemade cinnamon rolls in every cabin. The rolls are ready for you to bake at your leisure so you can enjoy them fresh and warm whenever you’re ready to start your morning.
The cabins do not have wifi. We encourage our guests to unplug and enjoy a digital detox during their stay.
Our cabins are cozy, charming, and full of character that only comes with 100+ years of history. You’ll find real beds, modern amenities, and plenty of comfort. What you won’t find is room service.
These are living, breathing old structures with log walls that have seen a century of seasons. We take cleanliness seriously, but we’ll be honest: nature is our neighbor, and occasionally she lets herself in. If the thought of a stray bug or a lizard saying hello from the porch adds to the adventure for you, you’ll fit right in here. If it would ruin your trip, a hotel might be a better match — and there’s absolutely no shame in that!
Our happiest guests are the ones who come for the experience of staying somewhere genuinely old and wild. If that sounds like you, we can’t wait to have you.
